Lots of Cute Noises...

As I was sorting through the videos from the last week or so, I noticed how many of them include Ellie laughing/cooing/making happy noises. She brings so much joy to our lives!

Well, try as we might to catch Ellie rolling over on camera, it hasn't happened yet. Here's the best we have...

Ellie has started to use the Bumbo* chair, which lets her sit up on her own. It's a pretty cool baby accessory we're borrowing from a friend.

*not Bimbo as David calls it ;)

David is really proud of Ellie for this last one!

This last month back to school has been busy, but really good. Here's a few October pics. My part-time job with our church is ending soon, but I'm hoping to keep volunteering there this year until I find something else. I've decided to look for work that doesn't involve working directly with children- I don't have much extra "kid" energy these days. I'm loving organizing files though :) And creating databases to organize information to make them easy to use and maintain... ah the things that bring us joy ;) This past weekend I also organized a big big party (for 220 adults and kids) after our church service- Oktoberfeast- and with the help of lots of people it went off great. Ellie ran around with me in the Moby Wrap (which she is now facing forward in) and was just as happy and cheery as usual. I think she enjoyed the ride :) We are SO lucky to have an easy going baby. Ellie and I are planning on taking this week easy, especially today, and not planning any more giant parties for a while. Off to wash diapers; something that must be done no matter how tired you are.

Fall is here :)

Fall is by far my favorite season. And I'm sure this fall will go down as one of my favorite, sharing it with my little girl. We've already enjoyed a walk together to David's school to pick him up from work, and I hope we have more rain-free crispy days to do this. Along with pretty leaves come pretty fall clothes for little girls, too :) Ellie is becoming EXTRA cuddly in her fleecey velvety outfits- I love it!

This last week Ellie decided to put practicing roll over attempts on the back burner because of her new infatuation with sucking on her hands and other items (a favorite is mommy or daddy's wrist/hand), which we presume is due to teething.

She has also developed a new habit of pulling her pacifier out. Repeatedly. And especially when it's bed time. :) It was cute at first, after the tenth time of her pulling it out while we tried to put her to sleep it started to grate a bit.

This next video is Ellie playing with her cow rattle (from Great Grandma Dorothy). She's developed a taste for meat already.

It's amazing how tummy time improves practically each time she does it! It seems like she's able to lift her head up more and more.

The other night I was putting up her bumper, since she's starting to move around her crib more, and she was SO chatty.

And finally, more September photos. As you've all noticed Ellie's hair is pretty scant now, oh well! It will grow back soon :)

Ellie has a cousin on the way!

Here are the first photos of Ellie's cousin, who is 21-23 weeks old--
It's a boy!

Congrats Peter & Gloria!!

What Ellie Did Today.

Christine,

This is why we don't post every day.

But we're glad you love her so much!

3 months and cute as ever

Observations about Ellie, at 3 months (completely objective, of course):
- she is super cute
- she enjoys playing simple games like us kissing her cheeks and her smiling in response, getting airplane rides and squealing, and talking/cooing back and forth with us.  she will make eye contact relentlessly until you talk back with her if she's initiated a conversation with you. the topic is hard to follow though...  lots of "oooooo   oooooo."   maybe she's trying to tell us she wants to be an owl for halloween?
- she will tend to be more mellow when in a large group of people- she doesn't talk as much but likes to just look around and study people's faces.
- she still has blue eyes.
- she is so close to rolling over!
- she may be teething... there's a little bump when you run your finger along her gum.

Let's go NOW, mom!

What is this stuff?

Check out my head control!
